A true sign of spring - early day lilies enjoy the sun along the south side of the courthouse. Now is the time to plan and permit projects so they may being when road limits are lifted.


As part of the security policy enacted by Vilas County, beginning on Monday, March 19, 2018 all members of the public must enter the Courthouse through the main entrance located in the new addition on Court St.  All other entrances will remain closed. All members of the public will be subject to a weapons search upon entry.  This main entrance will be the only location for members of the public to exit the building.  In additon, all members of the public must have exited the building prior to 4:00 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Seasonal wight limits are in effect on some Vilas County roads.  Check with the Vilas County Highway Department for restrictions on County trunk highways, and check with the local municipality for restrictions on town roads.

Vilas County Zoning & Planning is closed on Holidays.

To reach the Zoning Office:  After passing through security, proceed straight ahead down the hallway, around the corner, and down the ramp.  You will not need to use any stairs. Proceed straight through the purple double doors. The Zoning Office is the first office on the right, and the Sanitary Office is the second office on the right.
